Anyone know if the connector to the switch is available anywhere, I think I looked everywhere both on BMW and Ferrari part sites, just can’t find it. The connector is stamped AMP 926108. Image Unavailable, Please Login

AMP parts usually have a number. Can be hard to see or read.

There was a factory connector catalog made. I am not sure if it went back that far but worth a try. Also have you asked any of the old time parts guys?

Sorry to say but this place is just not the best source. I'd ask Brian or Dave at T Rutlands for starters.

It is for a -85 GTS QV.
I might have solved the problem, ordered a complete BMW e21 mirror cable harness, hope it is the same connector.

I had a -85 Mondial and used the BMW connector. Worked for me.

The plastic the switch is made of is thin, look for cracks.
    Peter

I might have a BMW switch on the shelf if there are any problems with the one you bought. /Peter

Thanks a lot for the tip, I hope I get the right one, they didn’t have any pictures just the oem number on the harness.

Did you figure this out? I’m specifically interested in replacing just a connector pin, which I’m sure is an off-the-shelf edge connector pin; I just don’t know how to find the right one without, for example, an AMP part number.

Might be obsolete unobtanium -- not hopeful when TE Connectivity (who bought/is AMP) has this on their website:

    https://www.te.com/usa-en/product-926108-1.html

(Although they do say "contact us if you need...". The connector shown in this thread with more positions is probably 926108-something else.)

Dang—I'm shocked there's nothing listed under "Compatible Parts"—I was certain the terminals would be something really common that's still in production. Thanks though.

Well I'll be darned; on a whim I went ahead and emailed them last night to ask what terminals go with this thing, and sure enough, they responded today with exactly what I was looking for:
Well, maybe not exactly what I was looking for; it looks like the only terminals still in production aren't meant to accommodate wires larger than 20 AWG, which is a little small for our power mirror application (and will be especially annoying in my case, since the whole goal here was to re-crimp the +12V wire with a second wire in the terminal to borrow power from that circuit in my door).

Following up—good news—terminals (583362-2) accommodating 18-20 gauge wire (equivalent to our mirror switches' 0.8 mm^2) are still available, here: https://www.questcomp.com/part/4/583362-2/63485927
I now have nineteen of them (on account of the aforementioned supplier's order minima, in terms of both quantity and dollars), so let me know if you need a couple.
The official AMP tool to safely de-pin the connector, 91037-2, is readily available, but not inexpensive, so I turned to eBay for that, where some doofus insists on selling them in sets of four, so I also have spare tools if anyone wants one of those.

I got an old mirror switch from a BMW.
We tried very hard to get the contacts right but at the end not all movements of the mirror works.
