I never signal when I drive. I don't want people to know what I'm thinking.

From an engineering perspective, turning on your blinker when you're halfway around a corner isn't a "signal", because it conveys no non-redundant information. A medium without information is called "noise".

Well, engineers also understand the notion of "Need to Know" information. :D

If you signal around here, you get blocked. The only time I signal is when I AM merging into that lane, whether you're there or not. At that point, it's not so much a signal as a warning... :D

Feel free to drive behind me. I always use my turn signals and follow autobahn rules of passing except when impossible.

I get seriously annoyed at having to guess what the drivers will do. Lack of ability to see through their tint makes it worse.

Although when my top is down, people tend to merge into my lane unexpectadly less.

I see so much unsafe stuff, it's not funny. I'd like CHP to pull over motorists with underinflated tires. The handling and braking is compromised too much for that driver to be safe.

+1. I never signal because then people speed up to not let you in. It's a vicious cycle I guess.

Hey, you hit on my biggest peeve too! Here in FL, people changing lanes and signaling seem to think just because they are signaling, you need to let them in, I do sometimes, but the signal is a request, not a demand.

I can't figure out why engineers have not come up with a reliable signal mechanism. It's clear to me that at least half on the road are inoperable. Someone should do something!

Cars can sense when they're drifting out of a lane (or at least some luxury models have this). How about automatic activation on the turn signal when that happens?

Come to the US and do that, and you'll soon be posting the the threads about "Americans with guns."

It absolutely pisses me off when drivers don't use their turn signals. Use the damn things, and let people know what the hell you're gonna do!

    Yes. It's a privacy issue.

If you want privacy stay home or (gasp) take public transportation.

A big help would be not to smoke and talk on your cell phone while driving. This really makes it difficult to change lanes and signal.

    Haha

Two most unused items that come with a car for Americans:

    Turn signal.

    Owner's manual.
