Looking for opinions -- I Can't decide - Black looks sinister, silver looks classic on the spider - anyone have them back-to-back/side-to-side? Hate keeping Black clean - If I go silver, I would do pure silver - And may paint the nostrils silver to match the body color. Thoughts? Thanks!
I don't have any pictures of Silver or black F430 SPIDERS but, I think this one looks awesome. I believe it's Ferrari's newest color Grigio Silverstone. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cool - Could be the ultimate "split the baby" color - There is a video of an F430 spider in French floating around - if that is the color, tho, it does not do it for me. The his-res pix are cool, but that color in the video did not look good.
Agreed..I'd go for the Grigio Silverstone. It looks 'stealthy' thus being sinister (evil) without having the problems associated with the colour black...
I think the F430 in the French video is Grigio Silverstone. In the video it almost looks black. I would like to see that color in person. I think I like it a lot.
Then get silver! I'm leaning toward that as well. You really have to see the grigio silverstone in the flesh. Looks way different than the pics. Think P-car seal grey but bronzy flecks as oppossed to purply.
Jamie - Thanks. Not a big Seal Grey fan - My 996 TT Cab is Arctic Silver because of that very reason.
Argento metallico is the perfect color for the 430 because it highlights the curves and scoops, the concave and convex. Plus, the metallico gives it a subtle shimmering quality, especially at night and under direct sunlight. Argento makes the car look like a highly polished stainless steel sword. Black, while obviously stunning, hides many of the 430's outstanding features. Titanio metallico is also very sharp and clean. Keep us posted, especially when she lands. Yes, it is Nurburgring, but I prefer the simple argento... I'm uploading a few shots. Your thoughts.... Forza, Cavallini
Very, very nice - I would love to see it in daylight -- tho it does show well at night and in overcast situations for sure. I love the Arctic Silver of my TT - Is Argento Metallico a bit less OR a bit more Grey than the Titanio Metallico?
I'm not a big fan of Argento. It's too light and doesn't seem to have a lot of metallic content, unlike other manufacturer's silvers. It looks almost white in some lighting conditions. Have you considered Titanium or Grigio Alloy? Much more complex colors that show off the lines better, IMO. I personally would never buy a black car. Gary
It depends on how you define grey. Some people might think Titanio is more grey because it's darker. I think Titanio is more grey because it's not as bright as Argento. I have a few beautiful shots of a Titanio 360 spider outside, and an Argento 430 inside, but they're too large to upload. I could e-mail them to you if you like. PM me if so. Forza, Cavallini
Yes, I agree to some extent. Titanio and Grigio Alloy hold up better to direct sunlight but with the 430 I'm not sure it would make as much difference as it does with the 360. The 360's shape is smoother, less angular than the 430, which is why darker colors enhance and highlight its curves so well. With the 430's sharper more aggressive and angular presence I'm not sure the difference between the colors would be as great. I've included a few shots of Argento on other models to bring different angles to the discussion- a Gallardo, a 360 and two 575s. The Gallardo's even more angular and severe lines look stunning in argento, almost making the car look naked, no ornamentation, just the lines. The 575, otoh, is smoother yet argento highlights the curves and subtle aggression equally well. Deeroff, there's a thread in the modern section about a Hamann 430 that is in grigio alloy. The color is stunning, if you like the blue tint of Grigio Alloy. What Hamann did to the car is another story. When it's time to purchase my 430 it will be Argento Metallico. I am not a real fan of a blueish tint in a silver paint personally - My frame of reference is Porsche - I love the Arctic Silver but did not like the Polar Silver (which has a blueish tint). I get the concept of picking up the sharper edges and a more metallic paint would surely do so. I don't want it to be too wahsed out either. BTW, I have two black cars -- when they are clean -- WOW - when they are somewhat dirty - still WOW (My detailer keeps me looking good so even after a rain or otherwise, the cars look pretty good). BUT, given that the F430 spider is likely to be driven when the sun is shining, I also don't want to fry in the car!
I agree to some extent about the bluish tint of Grigio Alloy. It's beautiful but not as pure as argento. And with two black cars you don't need a third, especially not a convertible. A very stunning combination I've seen but don't have shots of is Argento exterior with crema interior and roll bars, with grey piping and carpet. This would be a beautiful contrast to you black cars. I don't. I've seen the spider in several colors but not argento. I haven't searched the web for it, however, so you might find it there. If you do find it, post it here. Forza, Cavallini
You should be able to see highres photos of the red, yellow and black f430 spiders once the following website comes back on line: http://www.swisscarsightings.com I have seen the F430 Spider F1 in Nero 1250, Beige A4208 Leather and the Cuoio Naturale Carpet with Aluminum Calipers, Scuderia Shields and stock brakes and it is a stunningly sophisticated combination of colors. It projects a very different image from Rossa Corsa combinations - which emphasize flash and contrasting colors between the roof top and the body colors. The Nero 1250, however, does understate the lines of the F430 relative to silver but they are still clearly visible.
