Finally, a race week is upon us. I expect Ferrari and Lotus to be very quick here, especially Ferrari. Lotus are bringing what they are saying is their largest upgrade package of the season. Paddy Lowe will be at the paddock and rumored to be right on the pit wall with MB this weekend. No word yet regarding their updates nor anything from any other team, although it's safe to say we can expect something from everyone. Whilst searching for this weekends NBC coverage on Comcast in Atlanta, I finally found it listed on 836 under the title "British Athletics Grand Prix 2013", so I predict the winner will be Usain Bolt. Still can't find live coverage listed for qualifying, so I hope he makes the cut! I guess that makes me an athletic supporter
I don't think NBC or NBCS is doing qualifying live because they are also covering the Tour de France, which starts Saturday.
looks like we get delayed qualifying on NBC Sports at 2pm eastern on Saturday. If it's on NBC or CNBC or NBC#99 I have no idea.
Being recently very close to Lotus, they will be quick here with a very clever new aero trick. Interesting to follow but cannot say more.
Ahh interesting. I do know Lotus were testing their drag reduction device quite a bit earlier in the season, I have to wonder if that will make another appearance. Regardless, this type of circuit is excellent for Lotus.
Nice article.... BBC Sport - British Grand Prix: Can Sebastian Vettel be stopped at Silverstone? BBC thinking Vettel or FA.
I think it's between the usual suspects, Vettel/Alonso. After them, it's anyone's guess and I can see many of the scenarios play out that you guys have posted. Interestingly, everything I've heard from Hamilton is in reference to 'having the best car I've had going into the British Grand Prix' and 'feeling good about my chances to win the race'. Maybe he knows something we don't? Anyway, I will take him at his word and take Hamilton to lead everyone else with Kimi and Rosberg/Webber rounding out the top 5.
What in the hell is their problem? It's like they want to take their toys and go home because they were reprimanded for the 2013 car/tire test. Nothing happened, so just put the new compounds on the freaking cars. There's no need for them to play cat-and-mouse.
Not allowed. Remember, they also wanted to revert to the 2012 kevlar belts too. They're learning that, despite what some here believe, moving the goalposts during the season is just not done. Again, the only way they could introduce new compounds and/or construction is with unanimous approval. And that's obviously not been forthcoming. Cheers, Ian PS. Another great W/E on the lake, thanks for asking.
Got it. I conveniently forgot that the other teams did not agree to change the compounds/construction, so they're just making noise now to crow back at the teams.
From what I've read, Hamilton is down playing his chances of a win against SV but feels MB may be the best of the rest
