    A couple simple questions.

What size are the bolts (lugs) on the 16" 308 wheels? ( I want to order one of those nylon covered Sockets so to not scratch the paint on the wheels)

On a GTSi 308 80'. Can the steering wheel be adjusted? Up down etc.? I don't see a knob. Just lights, signal and wipers.

    Thanks.

    Marc:)

    Yes.

There is a cover that is attached to the dash under the steering column.

Take the 4 screws off and using 2 wrenches, loosen the bolt and adjust the steering wheel pitch up or down. Becareful no to adjust it too high or your fingers will rub the top of the cluster.

Matt is right ...the rake of the entire column can be moved up or down....be sure to tighten it back up!

You can adjust "in -out" only by use of spacers behind the wheel....

    Thank you,

Maybe you can offer advice. I'm 5'11" My problem is my knee on my clutch leg gets close or touches the wheel. What is the intent of the column ext.? If it is just hand position that's not a problem for me, steering is comfortable. I don't think I can get my seat back further, to lower my knee angle.

So, I'll try the adjustments described, But would the column ext. solve my problem or is it for something else?

    Thanks

    Marc:)

Tilting the wheel up will help.

I'm 6 and all I did was tilt it up and my knee's don't touch. Check your seat rails to make sure it's indeed going all the way back.

Okay, I removed the 4 screws an cover. loosened but not removed the 2 bolts. Still no steering movement? I believe there is something else that needs to be loosened?

I tried a smal nut on the left side attavhed to an orangy piece.

How do I free the steering wheel to move it up?

Also, I did a google for the steering ext and could not find it? Any links?

    Thanks

    Marc

Yes, the geometry requires that the length of the lower steering shaft has to change as you change the tilt. If yours has a big hex nut, loosen it, and the two halves should slide ("telescope") to change the length.

With regard to the steering wheel extension -- definitely get one (and please do a search here ;)). I think that you unfortunately have the "oddball" 308/328 model that doesn't use the usual F "Momo" bolt circle size and phasing for the mounting screws. In the jpeg the "usual" 308/328 Momo F pattern wheel is on the left and the 308-2Vi steering wheel is on the right (note that the mounting hole pattern is shifted by 30 deg on the "i" wheel -- wouldn't matter for a spacer, but the diameter of the bolt circle is also slightly different). I know that Paul Hill at Sponsor Hill Engineering knows this issue -- have a look at his website, but, shoot him an email (even if the website doesn't show the "i" version specifically and that's what you have).
