Interesting approach. Not really my style as it reminds me of the vent hose on the back of our clothes dryer.

Great looking bay! How did you clean up all the wiring and vacuum hoses? Did you re-route things during an engine out job?

Haha, these are full blown automotive and much more flexible and resilient than the denty dryer stuff. The rubber hoses are heavy, thick and hard to keep clean with all those bumps. This will reflect some heat.

Car had mostly new hoses when I bought it with 3200 miles on it.

Major service may have rerouted but it looks the same to me. I repainted some chips off the heat shield over muffler. Airbox cover could use a clean. Just built an aluminum pipe for my Miata FF Supercharger. Use Armorall on the electrical insulation and loam.

Guess what? passenger stop light went out. Turns out the housing lip cracked and connector came off. Lamp is fine and seated again but kind loose on one side. It's the dang heat and I have been cruising in traffic too much. I will search for tips on fixing light housings but I added a strip of foil backed insulation from my Miata in the mean time. I just laid it across the heat shield. Stop light is RIGHT over cat pipe. Plastic connector cover cracked too. I heard it pop and fizzle as I was leaving the house yesterday. Wondered what that was ;) Working fine now.

Double checked tonight and maybe a small piece of the reflector housing split off but both clips on the bulb socket are holding. The seal sits a little proud so I put a layer of electrical tape on it. This should keep moisture and junk out of it. I think the problem was the lead clip was not on all the way. The seal on the long cover was a little loose from age. This oversight is consistent with the poor battery connection which pledge - hazed me to the side of the road and into the Ferrari owners club my first week.
