    Hello together,

stupid me, but after I have recently rebuilt several waterpumps and now wanted to proceed with my reverse engineering and re-design I forgot to measure the most simple part of the pump.

Therefore my question; Does anyone of you have a dismantled large bearings waterpump lying around and could forward me the exact length of the spacer between the two bearings?
I would hate it to dismantle one of my finished pumps I have, because this would mean sacrificing the new one piece seal.

Best Regards and many thanks in advance

    Martin

Many thanks Ettore. I'm really glad, since my calculations were half a mm off. Proof, that each housing is slightly differently cast.

Yes, your pump housing is of great help. Thanks once more for giving it to me. Meanwhile I have modelled the outer shape in my 3D-CAD. A small drawback needed to overcome is determining the exact coordinates of the holes.
Will need the coordinate measuring machine at my machinist's shop.

BTW. That corrosion holes in the seal area were amazing. I wondered, what kind of acid the pre-owner had in his engine :)

Glad the project is progressing Martin. You're doing some amazing stuff!

Regarding the corrosion on that pump housing, . . . I was thinking the same thing. I suspect the standard coolant interval changes never took place on that car. More likely than not, that pump had been looking at the same coolant from original factory fill.

    Thanks Ettore,
nevertheless there would be still a way to salvage the housing. Will show it, when I am ready with my modelling work.

This is the current , half done status of 'your' housing.
