Compare the weight of the Voyager against the entry level closed-face HJC helmet. I have the HJC (either it's an SA2005 or SA2010) and it is great. Lightweight, relatively low price, high quality.

I used the (super) Voyager for years when first getting started in cars & karts. Great helmet (large eye port) for a good price point (lower end). As long as the SNELL rating on your helmet qualifies for what you are doing with it - use it and enjoy. After a few years, a hard hit, or whatever, then make a more informed decision on a lighter, more expensive, different shaped, etc. helmet.

There are a million threads here about helmet recommendations.

Buy the one that fits well and buy the best. Don't buy cheap.

HJC is the equivalent of Kia in the helmet world. Made in Korea, as well.

The Simpsons are not bad at all, but cheap is no measure of good. I am splurging on a good helmet but I need a kick around helmet too and the bandit fit the best though I hate the look of it.

The Sport from Bell is in the price range there with the Simpson but breathing is easier.

Do you need a closed face? Sure they look cooler/sinister but if you are just having fun and it is not mandated by some association and you are just having fun, this may meet safety needs, and be wearable.

The Voyager was my first proper circuit racing (as opposed to autocross) helmet. It was great. Eyeport really helped.

Now, I race and am on track enough to change my helmet up to twice a year. I use Bell.
