    What will happen to moscow economy??? :D Seriously many cities in the middle of nowhere that have nowadays 100-300k inhabitants (Stalin loved to move soviet citizens around to remote useless places) have based their economy on casinos, what will happen now? I mean it's not like they can do ooohhh-aaaahh again, the oil price is falling d-o-d by 2 to 3%

    I'm sure it will still happen, with just a few extra (thousand) rubles tossed to the militsia.

    Gambling in Russia is fun. I almost 'bankrupted' a podunk basement (but legitimate) casino in Yoshkar Ola back in '00, but that's not nearly as impressive as it sounds, since I had only won 220,000 rubles playing roulette. That wouldn't have happened in a Mockba casino... but of course we all know your friends aren't *really* winning and losing a few million a night. Unless by 'friends', you mean the people you stood next to and lickspittled :D

    Mob money = black money? I know that Las Vegas was builded on italian mafia's money. But in Russia, there is no "mob money". There are ALL MONEY IN COUNTRY - ARE "MOB MONEY". Even from oil and gas sales :D

    I hope they put one on Sakhalin Island as it will give me an excuse to go back and find Tatiana. I was last there in '98 and there was ALOT of **** going down with the mob.

    I read that it could put upto 100,000 people out of work, one casino alone was laying off 1000s of people but the govt claims only 13,000 will lose their jobs because of it.

    Yes, Vegas WAS controlled by the italian-americans but this isn't really about Vegas is it...We all know Russia is a very corrupt country (of course there are a lot of people who legitimately earn money there) and your endless posts on how Russia ISN'T corrupt aren't changing the fact. But keep posting, its fairly entertaining.

    Government get from treasury money for special "game zones" (As las vegas in states) and it was much more than casino owners can paid. Casinos are closed but all money that have intended for an infrastructure of these game zones are plundered of course as usual :D
