Since we're talking about 355 headers... how are the Fabspeed 355 headers?

Here is my laundry list of questions: :)

    Has anyone installed these?

Are they known to fit properly?

Do they solve the 355 header problem?

Are they known to have a good reputation?

I notice that they are neither coated in ceramic nor covered with any sort of heat shield. Will this cause the excessive heat problems?

    Thanks,
    David

....the design seems ok and they can coated/shielded anytime :)

I'll let you know. I've just ordered a set of manifolds and cats from from them yesterday. Should have them installed by next week.

I didn't think they need to be coated but not sure.

    Are Tubi's ceramic coated?

Coating or not, you MUST do something to shield your alternator from the heat. IMHO the best method is to wrap the headers in heat tape, but you can't do this if they are ceramic coated. It doesn't look the best, but it probably works the best.

What is heat tape? Never heard of it. Is there any other way to shield the alternator?

Lord we're all going to pull our hair out w/ the options on exhaust/headers. We need to start a "poll" or at least a board appointed steering committee on a broad based analysis.

...this comment is all in good light - OMG another choice!

I won't be pulling my hair out.

This thread was specifically tailored to specific questions, and so far I am satisfied with the answers. The purpose of the thread was not to compare the Fabspeed manifolds with any other brands, because I am satisfied that I likely won't be using the other brands.

If you are interested in a poll, then you are more than able to create your own thread for that purpose. In the meantime, please do not discourage others from replying to this useful thread.

Everything we have ever installed from Fabspeed has been of excellent quality. Never had any problems with them.
The headers should be coated or wrapped, individual preference here. We make a shield to protect the alternator, probably not required, but we are anal like that.
