How you ll doing? I have been going to Singapore for a long time - since i was a young boy - and im now moving into my house for good from Scotland. I have always just borrowed friends cars or got a taxi, but im buying cars when i get back, just left to return to Scotland for a few weeks. Anyway - my questions are these : What is the law about the front windows of the car being tinted? And i know the personalised plates are available, but where do i look for them? and how "personal" can you get. i do have more questions, but cant think just now!!! thanks so much!! hope we can all meet up, i know a few of you already from nights out! kind regards Guy
Hi there, not a car owner myself but maybe I could help you a little with the car plate question. Don't think personalised plates such as those you may see in other countries with custom words or phrases for example like 'FERRARI' or '360 F1' are available here. If I'm not wrong when you buy a vehicle and purchase the COE, your plate will start with 'S' and then followed by another letter corresponding to the month it was registered in, ie. I believe cars purchased last month in December have plates starting with 'SG'. However I believe it is possible to bid on new plates here which may be much more popular than others, such as those containing multiples of the same number ie. '777' or especially those containing the 'lucky number' 8. Short plates, for example 4 or 5 character plates as opposed to the typical 7/8 character plates are also usually bid upon. Hope that helps
