Greetings all! I just got invited to the Grand Prix Lounge Party for the Singapore GP on race night. Has anyone been there before? Care to share the experience? Maybe some tips? Also, my main concern is, what to expect, and what can I do there (i.e. photos and autographs with drivers?) and will ALL drivers be there? Or just a selected few? I went to Avalon tonight at the Marina Bay Sands did not see any drivers, but was one there for 30 minutes. Jenson and Lewis were at Fuse at the Sands last night for Tag Heuer event. From what I have been told is the drivers are spread around a bit.......Stereolab, Podium Lounge and Amber lounge. I am hitting the Podium Lounge on Saturday and the Amber Sunday, or is the other way around? RBR is staying at the Swisshotel, Ferrari at the Ritz, and McLaren is here at the Sands from what I have seen, hope this helps you a bit. Njoy the race!
Thanks for the headsup, I am only there for Sunday, business reasons. I suppose Ferrari drivers will show up to the podium lounge, because that's where they stay. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hehe.
the podium lounge party? wow that's not cheap. you can read out more details about the lounge party at the tourism board website . You may also fancy having a bid or two at the auctions held every evening. hey guys .. for you out of towners I will be at Ku De Ta atop the Marina Bay Sands tonight after qualifying. If any of you out of towners want to meet up drop me a PM and I will arrange for you to get in. Post race tomorrow will be the Amber Lounge which is always the place to be on race night.
Derek is the man, met up with him and his lovely wife Cathy at Ku De ta the Sands. Very nice couple. Have to love that Aussie humor.....I will make sure to throw in some oye, oye, oyes next time a see him. Singapore hospitality at its best! Thank you again.
So far so good for me, we are staying in Mandarin Oriental, right next to T15-16, about 200m from the trackside. Auction eh? Wonder what will be there tonight. Looking forward to it. Thanks for all the info everyone.
