it's an interesting circuit, mclaren will lose some of that out-right speed advantage, lotus and mercedes too ....being a street circuit i think pole position standing will be big in determining race result too ....the field will be close on this one IMO, hard to guess my guess; 1. hamilton 2. alonso 3. vettel
If we are to believe Ferraripilots' claim that merc could get as much as half a second from their upgrades, I'm hopeful for a podium for shoe. RACE 1: KIM 2: SHOE 3: BUT HAM out when maldonado/grosjean uses him as a ramp.
This track suits Red Bull, and Mercedes, so we will find out how effective their upgrades were. Mclaren will be good here but I'm not sure how good. F2012 is going to have a massively difficult time around here. I'm predicting an uneventful race. qualy: Vettel Schumacher Hamilton Rosberg Raik Button Alonso Race: Vettel Schumacher Hamilton Rosberg Raik Alonso Button
Its fact since the beginning of the year that it expected mercedes and one am optimistic predictions, I think that now it is time to watch something otherwise the credibility may be affected my prediction: ham alon but
Ferrari have a new diffuser and front wing for Singapore, just confirmed. Pics coming soon. I don't believe these updates are anything more than trying to band-aid F2012s fundamental issues it certainly has with this track. I'm sure we will not see these updates in Japan. Singapore will be damage control for Ferrari IMO.
Mercedes are saying their update package is a go after the young driver test. Singapore should be interesting!
Hot track temperatures, which is good for lotus . Although they are saying it'll rain again. De ja vu from all the last races we had here!
If it stays dry I think we can see Kimi doing very well...The car wasn't great out in the rain the last time. I'm not sure if they have any upgrades coming though...
+1...the McLaren has won 4 of the last 5 races. Barring failures or a shunt, you'd have to assume they will continue their surge. Lost in their surge is that Alonzo has been impeded by misfortune the last two races, but the car was good enough to win in Monza if not for the broken control arm. I think it will be a battle between Alonzo and the McLarens
F2012 has a new floor, new 3rd element at the inboard side of their front wing, slightly different cascade pattern on the front wing, and Nando does know how to use a phone. It was previously thought Nando could only speak several languages and driving a racing car, and phones were simply handed to him by people in white lab coats. You can clearly see on the floor that Ferrari have extended the gurney tab further over their diffuser. Probably worth a tenth. +1 The only bit of info which would be useful here is you can see where Ferrari attached 4 brackets to further uphold the extended detached gurney flap over the diffuser which provides further rigidity
Still no reason to just have it sitting out in the open. Here F1 engineers close a damn laptop screen when a TV camera walks by (as if you could possibly see anything noteworthy on it) but just leave the new floor completely exposed for all to see, important side or not. Just doesn't make much sense.
