Sir Anthony Bamford's 599 GTO

According to all-knowing Wikipedia he was Lord-ified in 2013. He's a life peer not a hereditary peer. Am sure our UK friends can elaborate. {Some Americans do care about royalty, Brit royalty anyway, as perusal of the scandal rags at the grocery store will attest }

Antony Bamford was made awarded a Life Peerage in 2013, in theory by the Queen, in reality by the Prime Minister. If people wish to be controversial you could claim his political donations played a part.

There are two types of Peerage; Life & Hereditary. The names are pretty self explanatory, I think. I don't believe Hereditary Peerages are awarded anymore, but statute does allow for it.

Nice GTO he has; not my cup of tea, but it's great to see a homage to (one of) his other GTOs.

 

How many 599 GTO's do you have count of so far? I assume there are more than 599?

Sure. Notwithstanding the squillions you guys spend giving to charity just to have the chance of a cup of tea at the Palace or a round of golf with one of our royal family.

As for Bamford, he's a brilliant businessman who has contributed greatly to UK plc (and many other countries). He deserves the recognition. And IMO that includes creating a delightful collection of superb cars.

 

I really like this GTO and it is cool that it is inspired by the owners own 250GTO. He has got two of the 250 version..
