Those of you in the US with new cars, how long is the Sirius satellite radio trial subscription you are getting?

I recently took delivery of my new F8. The pamphlet that came with the car said there should be a one year trial. When I activated the radio, they had to manually enable the subscription and said it was only for three months, and told me to contact the dealer about the length. Am discussing with my dealer, but was wondering if others had similar issues with the length of the trial.

Easier to nail jell-o to the wall than deal with Sirius. I thought the trial period was 12 months but I could be wrong.

Not sure if it is manufacture specific but my wife and I just purchased a 2021 Mercedes G63 and it came with a 3 month trial period.
Sirius is relentless in their methods to get owners to subscribe with the amount of mailings and emails that they send out.

The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I absolutely hate that company.

Once you sign up you will pay HELL trying to get out of it. They have a million apparent loopholes to keep you on.

Then once you're finally out of the contract, they will hound you for the rest of time via email, cell phone, home phone, snail mail, and even "take over your car radio" - you'll be listening to traffic on AM and suddenly realize you're listening to a Serius-XM advert and find the radio has in fact been told to change station to a Serius-XM channel just so you'd hear that ad.

    They. Are. Awful.

Took me YEARS to be rid of them - long after I sold the Merc that came with the trial subscription that I was stupid enough to continue. Ten years later, I STILL get the odd snail mail "inviting me back" - even though I've moved since then they STILL manage to find me.

I've been a subscriber off and on for years, so am well aware of their customer service and renewal games... My question is really to confirm if the trial subscription should indeed be for 12 months, or if something might have changed recently. Just want to make sure I get all the free months I'm supposed to.

Every car that I've purchased recently, 2021 Tahoe, 2019 CT6-V, and used 2017 Merc AMGS65 has come with only 3 months. The Merc was purchased 3 weeks ago so that is pretty recent. The Tahoe was purchased at the end of December, 2020. Hope that helps.

The free trial from Sirius/XM is always 3 months. A car dealer may pay the one year subscription price as a perk to the customer.

    Here are two tips-

NEVER pay with your credit card, always send them a check. If you pay with your credit card they will renew you each year at their full price.

NEVER pay full price. I've been a customer since 2007 and have never paid with a credit card and have never paid their full price. Read this forum thread for great information -

You don't need discount codes. Just go to the site to cancel once a year and you can have $5/month forever. Even that got so annoying that I dropped it and just use Spotify from my cell phone. The only real point I can see to something like siriusxm is live sports, which I DGAF about anymore for reasons that belong in P&R.
