Hey guys, so my FOB has been acting up lately. It works if I give it a slight tap or 2. It's like there is a bad contact in there somewhere. I opened it up and didn't see any corrosion to speak of.

    Anyone ever had this problem?

Does the battery seem loose, Eric? I had a similar problem with mine. The battery holder contacts seem to be losing their springiness. I stuffed a bit of padding on top of the battery to help it seat properly. Works perfectly now.

Of course, it could be a dry solder joint in your case.

Hmm, it did seem to work when I put some pressure on the battery. So, you just stuffed some padding on top of the padding and closed the lid?

    Thanks!!!

I slap mine and it works. Replaced battery already.

WHAT IT IS: faulty contact on circuit board from chip(s) and other contacts to mobo.

HOW YOU FIX IT: Run a soldering iron over all the components a fixed to the board (solder)
    this fixed mine

I did look for faulty electrical contacts on mine, but in my case, the two halves of the fob seem too big for the battery and the metal spring clips at either end of the battery aren't enough to hold it in place.... A few shakes and it dislodges from the clips. Adjusting the clips didn't help either.

Precisely. It's been working flawlessly for the last 6 months. I'm sure I'll get around to devising something more permanent, but it's certainly much cheaper than buying a new one :)

BTW this happens over time from WEAK solder. As stated above.
