I would like to fab my own skid plates /purchase some. Does anyone have pictures of some installed on a 458? Interested of size and mounting location Are they worth the protection they give you for the front bumper? Thanks Peter South Florida.
My dealer custom cut Delrin for my 430, 458 coupe and now 458 spider. Sadly I use them. Fortunately they are fantastic. I never have to worry about scraping my car(s) that have been lowered. You are welcome to contact Ferrari of Atlanta regarding whether they can cut for you and have your dealer install. Best
I use extra thick clear bra that is abt twice as think as reg clear bra. Cut a few strips and apply to front surface under bumper. I did two layers for additional thickness. Works wonders and it's very easy to do yourself. The vinyl can be bought on eBay for $20-30. A clear bra shop had this also and just did it for me with scrape pieces for free since he was wrapping my car. It is easy to change and reapply new strip in case you scrape a lot. The plastic delron won't last long if you scrape much. Thickness is about the same as two layers of the extra thick clear vinyl that I used
Have had busy weekend working everyday! Somebody has to pay for the car! Anyway, will be taking car out on my off day, Tuesday. Will try and get car into spot that shows delrin for you. As lowered, tricky getting under car shot! Will email dealer tonight in case my uber-mechanic has a photo. Sure he does, but just in case he doesn't I will do my best! Randy
