Skiing now?

You have some options. As long as your expectations aren't super high you should have a decent-good time.

Loveland
About 1 hour from Denver.
Loveland usually gets the most snow of the top front range ski areas.
A few runs open, some greens and blues. Never crowded.

Keystone
About 1- 1 1/2 hours from Denver.
A few runs open, two greens and one blue. They are all pretty fun when they are not crowded, which they won't be on Wednesday. Keystone usually gets a little less snow than Breckenridge even though the mountains are basically next to each other.

Breckenridge
About 1-1 1/2 hours from Denver
It has two runs open. They are both green runs but can be fun when they are not crowded, which they won't be on Wednesday. Check out the ski conditions here:

Arapahoe Basin
About 1 hour from Denver.
They seen to have a few blue runs open.

These are your best bests for a day trip from Denver. I would recommend Loveland as it's the closest, has the best chance for fresh powder, is the cheapest and probably has the most challenging runs available at this time. As I mentioned before, Loveland is bare bones, no fru-fru lattes here. But to get the most bang for your buck at this time of the season, it's probably your best bet.

Great news you are getting some skiing in! To tweek an old line...the worst day of skiing....is still better than not skiing at all! I can't use the "better than work" version since i actually do enjoy working.

 

If you have 'em, pack your clear lenses. The light will likely be flat.

Have fun dude - the NE guys pretty much all said, "go west young man", and here you are doing exactly that Let us know how the early skiing works out! I'm off to buy new Ski-boots this weekend after sitting out 2 seasons first with the aftermath of a big crash, and second with surgery required to fix that. Going to be taking it easy to start with this winter.

I hear Loveland was pretty good today considering it is early season. Most areas do not really have much of base this time of year so it is pretty much a crap shoot. But you have skiied this year....unlike the rest of us....
