My apologies if this car has been discussed. I couldn't find it when I did a search. Did anyone see the light blue CGT on Ebay. What are your thoughts on the color? I'm definately a fan. It pays homage to the Porsche race cars with gulf livery of the past without doing the full blue and orange treatment that just dosen't look right on the road IMO. I've changed the color of the CGT on my dream car list! The price is a tad high even with a custom color that probably cost as much as a fairly nice mid-size American sedan. I guess if you were a money-no-object type of person with your eye on a unique and low mile CGT it wouldn't be to bad however. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-Porsche-Carrera-GT-Rare-color-Low-miles-Perfect_W0QQitemZ160238764693QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160238764693&
They must have smoked some bad corn before they put in the bin price...They can't be serious@$575k can they?
Wasn't that car supposedly sold to Manhattan Porsche previously ? $575K.....LOL !!! Meth must have finally made it's way to Omaha...... Take out the awful Terracotta interior and put in the Natural Grey leather and I might pay $375......I bid $350K on one the other day and mised it by $25K. Don't get me wrong.....I love CGT's, but I also "intimately" know what they cost to repair firsthand......if you think F-cars are bad sometimes.....you have seen nothing yet.
Does anyone know the history of this CGT? Has it been in Omaha since new? Better yet, has it been at woodhouse since new, ie never sold?!?!
I dont understand the premium for colors. Like Black Enzos going for $200k+ than a red one ? Its just a color. Im sure you can buy a red one ,send it to the factory and have them paint it in black by naked virgins for less than $200k...
I like it, but I think the color would look better with a chick driving. The CGT is an amazing car though, sounds unbelieveably good.
This car or another Gulf blue car was at Supercar Weekend in Palm Beach. Oddly enough it says this is the ONLY gulf blue car.
A few Carrera GT's were special ordered in a sampled paint color as given by the owner. Several done in specified exterior colors such as Gulf Blue, Azzuro California, Giallo Modena, Orancio Borealis, pearl white, baby yellow, etc. The Carrera GT registry has a good selection of these special ordered cars along with the 6 base colors: Basalt Black, Black, Speed Silver, Seal Grey, Fayence Yellow, and Guards Red. Porsche even made some cars with a color-by-sample interior as well.
I think the car would look better with black interior. I do love the color though, its kinda like the gulf blue.
Not many virgins in there either, for that matter. Willing to look with you though, Andrew Bet we can find some in the neighborhood.
The color is hideous. The interior makes it worse. To each thier own I suppose but why would you order a CGT in that color combo?
Not that we will find any virging there , but there is a nice strip club in Modena by that Hotel..forgot the name. They are all pretty fit that it will not add a lot of kgs and harm the lap times at Fiorano the next morning
Actually, terracotta is awful, but this is an ascot interior....much nicer in person Paint to sample cars command a bit of a premium. The sticker on this car was 468k. It has 700 miles on it and is in perfect shape. I know a couple of serious buyers that would be interested at 450k or so. Good CGT's are still commanding 400k+.
