Thank you... last time I was in Chicago I found myself wondering what if the Columbian buildings, etc. were all still there.

    Would be incredible.

New design concept for the old Chicago Spire site...I like the old Spire design a lot better, but this is interesting. Related should have a plan for this site soon. Related are building a 850ft building a few blocks away right now. This design is 2000ft tall just like the Spire was.

They must be trying to use the Spires foundation with this design.

I actually like it a lot better than the Spire.

    Zurich building is nice...

Should the 'bridge' structure be more pronounced?

Fantastic thread. Went to NYC several times and it's always great. Have friends in the Chicago area but never visited the City. Hope one day...

It's a smaller, cleaner NYC. It was also planned better than NYC since it is a lot newer and a plan was envisioned by several large property owners and Daniel Burnham.

Downtown Chicago has an almost perfect street grid. I think you will like it.

    Update:

New Wolf Point East and south latest renderings. Looking pretty nice, but I think the old south tower renderings were slightly better.

Not a skyscraper, but designed by Bertrand Goldberg and built on the former Elgin Illinois (Chicago suburb) Mental Health Hospital grounds in 1966. This building is being considered for landmark and reuse. His most famous design is the Marina Towers in Chicago.

1200 S Indiana at 887 feet tall starting construction this month. Foundation work to begin in February. This will be the third over 800ft tall tower under construction in Chicago now. This will mainly be a rental. Should really impact the south loop and downtown Roosevelt street wall. This is only a few buildings down from the planned 1000 S Michigan Avenue building wich is also almost 900 feet tall. They are building another city in a city in that area of the loop!!

The second tower pictured will be over 1000 ft tall with a planned start after the first is completed. It will be all condo.
