That is awesome! It is funny to look on flight tracker and see the difference between autopilots and winds effecting the trip of the aircraft but I believe this wasn't an accident!! Good find.
It was no accident! Thoroughly discussed on some other aviation websites, though! They have to do a cold soak flight to make sure everything still works after eight plus hours at -57, so might as well have some fun.
B-17 and B-24 crews flew 8 hour missions at -30 and -40 deg F and they still operated pretty damn well. Nobody nowdays realizes what a hell the aircrews went through just riding at at 27,000 to 30,000 feet on oxygen and literally freezing their asses off. Then there was flak and fighters most of the way in and most of the way out that were shooting your keester off. Not many that survived are alive today.
I didn't mean to jump the track with my response to cold soaking. That flight tracking tool is wonderful to watch and to use. Ain't like the stuff I remember.
