    When I first saw the new SL recently, I didn't like the fake concept pictures, and couldn't get used to the actual car when the real pics came out.

    Then, I saw the new SL in F1, riding with Hamilton with the others in tow.

    I paused my DVR, and used my camera phone to snap this pic... I like :D

    Apart from that one angle, it is extremely ugly and unmanly.

    Can you just imagine a 599 or even an Enzo as a safety car? Much better!

    I actually like look of the new SL(much better than the previous model).

    A 599 Safety Car would be sick.

    I looked at the laps on live timing when the safety car was out, they were lapping at 2:10 +, more than 40 seconds off the lap. They need a faster safety car.

    I suggested in another thread that the winning constructor get to choose the Safety car, certainly an incentive to try and win.

    Someone explain to me why Mercedes has a lock on the safety cars for 2008? Is it to much to ask for a 599 safety car or something else?

    That front looks out of place on an SL . Belongs on a muscle car.

    I thought it looked horrible when I first saw the pics of the new SL. Now I think it looks absolutely fabulous. Love it to death.

    If it was doing 2min10's that is amazingly fast for a road car. Remember the GT class are only doing about 2minflats.

    MB is the safety car because they are paying for it. Simple really.

    It looks like something a MILF would drive to get her nails done. Any F-car would be better.

    The current or "previous" SL is a stunner.
    A beatiful car in every way.

    This is, well, horrible.

    CL 63 "Black" is better looking.

    Mercedes Benz is starting to look like a rice burner tuner from hell. What happened to the flowing lines. Now its all scoops and ducts. Mercedes use to look classy.

    For the same reason any other MB sells, rich people need one as a status symbol no matter how ugly they look. Personally I'd go with a BMW or a Lexus over a Mercedes anyday.

    what if it breaks down with all the other Ferrari engines breaking down!!! :D

    maybe they just need a Mercedes engine to keep up with Hamilton.. ;)

    I don't particularly care for the looks, but the V-8 engine sounded very nice on TV fom Australia.
