When I get stressed I have a lot of nightmares, which sound silly if I talk about them when I wake up, but often wake me up feeling terrified and unsure if it was real or not. Sorry I don't have any advice other than that eventually they stop.

From my experience with sleep disorder, I strongly recommend AGAINST Ambien, and it is my opinion that Mirapex has saved my life.

I had a very, very bad case of restless arm/leg syndrome, which was limiting me to no more than 2 or 3 hours of sleep per night. My doctor put me onto the Mirapex, and it has worked amazingly well, but I can't skip a single night. If I forget to take my nightly pill (which is at the minimum dosage) I don't sleep. Mirapex is most often prescribed for patients with Parkinson's Disease, but I don't have Parkinson's. I see that Mirapex is now advertising as a sleep aid.

I drink only water during the week. Maybe orange juice in the morning some days. I drink caffene during weekends sometiems, maybe a few sodas.

Haven't drunk any alcohol for weeks now

THATS WHAT I HAVE! I'm dreaming and its so real that when i wake up i have to think back and remember it was a dream. The "load" therapy isn't working. I even tried more than one "consultation" in a day :D

Yea. I hated it when i took it. Within 5 minutes, if i couldn't get to sleep in time i was talking to myself and watching the people who live on my arm. No joke.

I have been dealing with something similar. I just got back from vacation on July 8. That whole week I slept like a baby getting 8-9 hours a night. But last week since Friday, I have been sleeping like crap. The weird thing is I am not tired, I will sleep for 6 hours wake up full of energy. I guess things at work are picking up and I have been excited about it. What I have been doing is taking Melotonin, which has been helping me out. Try that if you can.

I haven't been tired but i know i should be. Its more annoying than anything else. Its making me tired earlier. By 10PM i'm ready to pass out, some nights 9:30. I usually go to bed around 12 or 12:30 latest.

Melatonin works for me but recently has been bothering my alergies. I also still get the dreams when i take it

Btw, small doses of melatonin don't work for me. I take 25mg and thats just strong enough (each pill is around 4mg btw)

I had problems with Ambien, and I see now that those problems were not unusual. The main issues were sleepwalking and binge eating during the night. My wife observed me walking around, apparently awake, but I wasn't. I ate a number of cookies, then started grawing on a raw, frozen, pork roast that had been set out on the counter to thaw, then tried to munch on some peppercorns (I could still taste them the next morning). There were other things, I can't remember. I've read now about people taking Ambien who have climbed into their cars while asleep and driven away from home, only to wake up later in total confusion. There have been cases of "sleep driving" where the police have stopped the driver assuming he was drunk, only to find a 0.0% blood alcolhol level, and the driver has been under the influence of Ambien. There have also been reports of gambling addiction and sex addiction for people taking Ambien.

The Mirapex has had no side effects on me at all.

I remember you telling me about that the first time i started having sleeping troubles. As far as i know, the side effects never happened to me (although, how would i really know? Lol). I do think i put tape on my dorm door once to see if it was broken in the morning and it wasn't. I've heard stories of people walking off their buildings and dying when on ambien so i really want to stay away from it if i can.

Its not that i have a sleep problem as such, i just want to get rid of these dreams

Dreams are telling you things about your life. Sounds like you need a dream analysis. Try to find a therapist that can do that, and perhaps the dreams will go away once you figure out their meaning.

How do people interpret other peoples' dreams?

Dreams are not straight forward. Some psychologists have trainging in dream analysis. You talk with the therapist and explain your dream, and hopefully they come to a conclusion. Look it up on google and read about it. It is very interesting.

Dream analysis is mostly bogus--therapists don't really know what our dreams mean. They'll focus on your conscious life and point to it as an explanation why your dreams are weird. But even at your healthiest your dreams are crazy.

do u work out in the evenings, or before u sleep at nite? for some people, working out too close to their sleeping time makes their mind fresh, and they'll most likely have difficulties sleeping.

either that, or u gotta workout harder, and naturally you'll fall asleep faster buddy ;)

Workout in the afternoon around 5

Last night i was talking to my gf and realized something. Call it silly but i used to go to sleep holding one of her tshirts and a stuffed penguin she gave me and recently i haven't been sleeping with them. I was hoping that that was it. Nope. I even switched my comforter in case i'm uncomfortable when i sleep. Nope

I dreampt about all my camera gear getting stolen and then drowning. Not too good considering i'm going to Florida in a few weeks :(

Try 1 glass of red wine about an hour before bed.

Works for me, plus 1 glass is good for ya.

I agree with this as well. But I feel after a few days it tends to ware off. I lay off for a while, then have a glass and goodnight nurse.

I'll try that. I need to find some wine first though, lol. I'm 21 in November. I'll sneak some back here when i go home next

I was on Ambien for a while. I would wake up and find out I was using power tools (including SAWS!) sometime during the night!! Also ordered stuff on the Internet that I did not remember ordering.

Wierd stuff. IIRC some congressman drove into a barracade in DC while on Ambien.

I can't deal with this for much longer. Waking up multiple times during the night. I'm falling asleep at work right now. I even took melatonin last night
