I guess it's a plate that changes out the gated shifter so that the hard gate is replaced with one that is rounded???

I am supprised that there has not been better responces to this question:( Anyway the gate edge/cut angle is changed. There for allowing smother and quicker slicker changes. Paul Hill makes them. Here is a picture of one so ya can see the new slashes/angle.

    (there are no stupid questions)
No, the gate does not protect the transmission, and opening it slightly will just allow you to move the linkage in a smoother fashion. Twice now I have gone from 2nd aiming for 3rd and "clunked" into the gate. This just resulted in a delay, but I had to think to keep from pushing it into 1st. THAT could do some damage.

At the moment, there is not one available for the 360. Different gear pattern, and a gentle arc on the plate are the key differentiators with the 355 style.

Didn't know the product was available here - I've bought one from the ebay seller in the UK. Looking forward to seeing how it works!

after some wonky shifts at L'il Talledaega in March, I'm thinking hard about the slick shift for my 355.

Had one from Hill Eng on my 308. Took it off when I sold and put it on my 348. Really makes a big difference on 1 to 2.
