I can't speak of .....corroded nipples.... but why not use what many oem use....a spring hose clamp. I have these on the bmw, seen them on many american, german and japanese products....& they spread the clamping load evenly and seal very well.
or contact dave helms and get a replacement if there is something wrong with the original hose. there must be a warranty of some kind.
When I got my car I had a slight coolant leak. On taking it to a tech day they found that the hose was not fully on the fitting and the clamp was not on the hose and fitting properly. Can you see the offending fitting? The tech had to lay on the engine to get to it and was about to remove the engine cover but didn't have to. Did you do a pressure test to be sure it's from the area you think it's from? If not I would suggest that.
Having gone through an engine out for the second time, I agree with this. Just cut the bloody things off during the engine removal and put a decent set on that will last you 5 - 6 years. Yelcab: What hose do you use form the underside of the overflow tank to the engine? I trimmed the SRI hose for the fourth time but it still kinks as I put the tank bank in.
SRI hose is pretty flawless. Call Dave and tell him the problem. I am sure he has a fix. I have never heard of this problem before with SRI hose. You pay a fortune for it to be perfect and it always is. Something funny going on??
Easy fix. Get rid of the silicon hose. Surprised in 2 pages this has only been sort of suggested once. Why the insistence of "fixing" a problem that don't exist in the first place, only to create a new problem?
Have any of you priced out every single Ferrari hose say from Ricambi and then compared prices to the Silicone? I know most could probably be cut out of rubber hose bought at your local parts store but a few can't. I can't believe what the Fcar tax is on these pieces of rubber.
Instead of tightening the clamp over and over get the hose off and see why it leaks. There is zero inherent problem with the hose and requires no special clamping procedure. Whatever the reason for the leak it would be there no matter the hose type. I have installed SRI hose in that location and never had a kinking problem. If it kinks it is cut the wrong length. Again a problem that would happen with any type of hose. Like SRI hoses or not, I really don't care but I have installed quite a few and have encountered zero installation problems related to the hose. People come here asking why they cant get air in their tire. I guess it should come as no surprise some cannot install a hose either.

I have a question that I'm afraid to ask for fear of the answer. Can the rubber heater return hose (#18 from plate 20 "Cooling System Nourice"....Ferrari calls this a "return sleeve from underfloor pipe to tank") be replaced with the engine in the car? This is the smaller hose that connects to the bottom of the overflow tank at the RH front side. I know it can be removed from the tank but the question is can it be disconnected from the heater's metal return pipe? Is there access somehow with the engine in the car? I'm guessing this connection is located somewhere in front of the engine but don't know where. Has anyone ever done this or is this connection only possible when the engine is out? If only when out, since its just the heater return, I've thought about just clamping it off for now. Would that do any harm?

I would use a plastic aquarium siphon hose (similar siphon also sold at most automotive stores...costs $3.00)..... you can pump the fluid from the tank to check your hose and tank fitting.
