To avoid the dreaded cracked header issue on my 05 430, I decided to install Fabspeed headers on the car. It seems there is a very very mild raw unburned fuel smell which I can smell inside the cabin. The smell is like that of a car running without cats but very very faint, as in barely noticeable. You know the feeling you get in your nose and throat when near a non-catted race car, same feeling I get with the faint smell.

Have already checked all bolts and all are tight and torqued accordingly. Is it because the fuel mixture is affected because of the header and will go away after the ECU learns or there is something I should look for. Aside from that, the header seems to be performing well, improved throttle response and mid range gains are noticeable. The sound is slightly too loud for my tastes, well more my neighbours really but liveable.

How long (miles) have you had the smell?

Probably around a 100 miles. I installed the header last week but haven't used the car much. Used it yesterday and today and thats when I noticed the smell. Very faint though

Are you sure it's a gas smell? I just had an exhaust system installed on another car of mine and there is a bit of a burning smell when I turn the car off. I understand that it will go away eventually. Not really a gas smell though.

I my friend. You should not have any smells with my fabspeed Motorsport 430 headers.
A likely scenario is that WD 40 or lubricant s being burnt off since you have not driven the car very much.
Also, the 430 Scuderia has the same 4 into 1 headers as every regular 430 but the only difference is that Ferrari eliminated the pre catalytic converter and these cars did not have any additional odors.

Fabspeed headers are race quality equal length and pressure and smoke tested to ensure no leaks. You should have no issues and have gained a lot of sports car sound and significant horsepower and torque.

After any F430 header there are still 2 Ferrari catalytic converters on each exhaust bank that scrub and catalyze the remaining spent exhaust. You should be good to go.

If you can come to fabspeed we can look over everything too!
    Have a great weekend

The headers are top notch, I don't think there is anything wrong with them really. At first, I thought the edu needs to learn and is making the mixture rich but, I decided to recheck the bolts once again and one of them loosened up by 2 full turns on the drivers side collector. That maybe the culprit. Haven't put that much mileage on the car once again so will update you guys in the next few days
