Okay... Test drove all of these today and here are my thoughts. If anyone has any advice or experience, please chime in. This will be used for daily driving. The info below was with very little time in the car and only test driving for approx 4-8 miles. These are my final choices due to price, looks, performance...

    (All Automatics and 2005year)
*SLK 350 ($44K) ~ acceleration seemed better than all others, handling was only better then a G35Coupe. Best looking of all others.
*G35Coupe ($34K)~ Seemed like the slowest and worst handling of all others. The interior was average, but one of the best in looks.
*350Z ($33K)~ Worst interior, and seemed only faster than the G35. Seemed like the best handling of all others. Looks are in the middle.
*Audi TTV6 DSG ($41K) ~ Second best in acceleration(Seemed like). Second best in handling. Best in fit & finish. Great interior, but lacks in exterior looks.

If you have any experience (Positive or Negative) please help out.

    Thanks,

    Rick

You think the G35s interior is boring and it handles poorly? MB has the most boring interiors in that segment IMO, but that is subjective. As to the handling and acceleration (its not a rocket, but its far from slow, and EASILY moldable for an extra 250hp), you must have test driven a dogged one. My Bimmer handles like a dream and the G35 handled just as well, if not better. One thing I LOVE about Infiniti's are their interiors.

The SLK is a great car, and it is probably more versatile for use (so long as you dont need a back seat) than the others. The convertible aspect of it makes it a sure winning in my mind.

    GL on your new purchase.

    EDIT:
On the 350, that is the same motor, save for a few differences, as the G35. The G35 with sport handling package will outhandle the 350 every day of the week. For less than the price difference between the SLK and the G35 you could take the G35 and make it faster than every car on that list (if you are interested in modding).

I loved the DSG transmission on the TT I drove a while back. It worked great. The gear shifts were quick and the car sounded pretty good too. I guess the TT is starting to age but it is still a relatively rare care at least here in Michigan. You won't see them on every corner. I haven't driven the new SLK350 but I would probably not get it since you can't get a manual transmission yet. I would go with the TT but I may be biased since I had one in the past.
