    Hi,
I have seen a number of posts indicating “all slotted fasteners” on our beloved cars.

However, it seems based on my online searches than the majority of Dinos (including mine) have Philips head screws in the (very prominent) shift gate holder location.

All seem to be oval head. And for reference, mine look like they are M5 x 0.8 (course) pitch, about 12mm long.

Does anyone know for sure whether these are supposed to be slotted?

Mine are a little ratty and was thinking of replacing and would like to do it correctly.

Also, though I am not sure I will have the opportunity to be choosy, any insights on the factory material/finish?

(Finding ones may be the next challenge)

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks, Peter! Mine is a US GTS built in July 1972, and looks just like yours.. so I guess I will stick with the Phillips heads I have. Seems like 80% plus of online photos show Philips.

    Cheers!

Yes, phillips are right. These are dimensionally unusual machine screws so I'd have them refinished.

    cheers Andrew
