Need assistance with a rather odd slow down light on a 328. About 10-15 minutes into a drive, the slow down light goes on very faintly. As I continue to drive, it gradually get brighter. As I slow down, the light then slowly fades. When I stop, the light goes out completely. I was always under the impression that the slow down light blinks when the cats approach "too hot" status. It's the gradual faint light to bright and fade that I question. I checked the cats, they are NOT glowing and do not seem hotter than usual. Everything seems absolutely normal - full power, no smells of fuel, etc. I'm certainly not a mechanic, but are there a few things a layman can do before bringing the car to a tech? Thanks in advance!!
take the sensor out from the Cat and clean it sometimes there is a build up and its starts to glow and give you a false reading.
