Yesterday my slow down light came on as soon as I started engine on a cold morning. It stayed on all day for a short drive. I called SLC dealer and they said it was either the temperature probe or the ECU. They said they have had problems with this on the 355's. Today as I am driving, the light goes OFF. Has anybody out there had this problem?

    Was it flashing or solid?

If it came on solid, it is more than likely the ECU and not the cats overheating. Are you running overly rich or out of gas (ie car is misfiring).

Nevertheless, always pull over at first should you see the light. You never want to be caught off-guard with your cats ablaze.

light was flashing/blinking and engine was cold. Cats were replaced by F dealer about a year ago under warrenty.

Flashing light means cats are getting warm. When the light comes on solid, it could refer to misfiring.

Have them run a check. Could also be thermocoupler ECUs.
