I know this topic has been covered to death. But does anyone have pics and step by step instructions on how to pull the slow down ECU's and swap them to see which one is bad?

And has anybody ever swapped them and found out that the problem magically went away?

Also, I have heard rumors of people wiring their bypass valves open. Anybody did that or known of someone doing it? Any problems or acceleration problems? I have a tubi exhuast with factory cats and headers. Would love to remove my cats but I havent the balls doing it myself.

Follow the thermocouple wire from the cat to the ecu. Take the two 7mm nuts off of ecu. Repeat on other side. You might take the side panels off for easier access to the ecus. If the ecu is black then those are known to fail, the newer ones have a green color on the side where the plugs are located.

I have swapped them before and had it take a long time for the problems to reappear. Like if just the unpluging then a repluging them cleans the contacts on the plugs. If there is a reel problem that should not happen.

I wired my bypass open for about 1month. Sounds good as hell but I got multiple random check engine lights and unwired it.

I am sure there are lots of posts on this but I hope this helps.
