Scared the crap outta me. Anyone else get this warning? It flashed - and when I restarted the engine - it went away... Thoughts? S
slow down actually means go faster I saw this light in Jawad's car, I have no clue why a Ferrari would have a slow down light I know on MBs there is a warning light that comes on if the car detects you are getting close the to car infront of you very quickly and it tells you to slow down.
I would call steve over at arena motors or one of the dealers tech centers. I am pretty sure a "slow down" light is designed to mean bad things are going on while driving. I would guess something along the line of misfires or overheating.
It's most likely a cat issue. I'm not a CS owner, but I recall seeing a few threads here and there where Slow Down is most commonly caused by malfunctioning cat. I had this problem in my 355 once. I took the cats out and never had it again.
got this from a website: "In some of the 8 cyl cars there is a little light to indicate if the cat is overheating - a sensor trips something and on either side of the steering column is a little square light - SLOW DOWN 1 - 4 or SLOW DOWN 5 - 8. Cats may overheat to destruction if there is an engine miss. And Ferrari engines are just two 4s held together with a common crank and engine block. Meaning that if you lose half an engine and the other half is still working - the nice unburned fuel charge may get down to the cat, ignite, and melt the cat. Serious business. OBD II cars, 1996 and newer - a misfire sets the MIL malfunction indicator light - blinks. A misfire is the only DTC diagnostic trouble code that will make the MIL blink. Long story - but something went pow in Maranello."
Welllll - I started the car this am, and there was no error message. The car gets it's 3 year service this week - so I'm sure I'll find out if there's a problem once they get into it
