hello guys, I have a modena 360 2000, which was running just fine. I noticed lately that I get a "slow down" message flashing on and off whenever I step on the gas and get high RPM or if I drive over 170 km/h. The gas cut off when the message constantly appears but does not if it is flashing. It is flashing in orange color. I had a oil leakage problem which I was told that it's due to F1 over filling of oil. Other than that the car is running smoothly. I have no other warnings appearing on the screen, except for the suspension which shows whenever the road is a bit rough. I have changed the timing belt lately and I have noticed this message after the belt is changed? or might be coincedintly occured? I have also noticed this during the rise of the weather's temperature "summer time?". I was advised for installing the F1 power unit sheild, which is removed by the previous owner. Anyone have a clue about the diagnosis of the problem ?

It is in orange colour and starts flashing first then when I get to 140 to 170 km/h it shows on the screen constantly and the gas cuts up

That means that the sensor is telling the EUC that the temperature is To hi at the cat-back. That is why it stops when the engine cools off. Check the sensors or the cat itself. I was thinking that if you install a non fouler or extension like I did when I install my test pipe maybe it can work out for you and you won't have to replace the cat and won't hace the light on.
    Maybe it will work.

From what I've read, this is not something to be guessing about. See a trusted Ferrari indie or dealer and get it diagnosed. At best, it's a faulty sensor. At worst, your cats are failing and due to reversion pressures, if particles come loose they could get sucked into the engine and cause major damage. As for the ECU heat shielding, I'd suggest replacing it. Like all computers, they don't like heat.

No one is guessing. That light tells you that the cat sensor is reading hi temperature. If you need to replace the cat buy a hi flow cats like Fabspeed or something similar.

    Good luck.

    I concur-

If you have a manifold pre-cat issue you have better get her to a dealer pronto on a flatbed. Any bits of those precats travel upstream, boy oh boy will you have tears & a substantial whack on the wallet..

Any hot cat issues nothin to gamble with..

Another agreement on the message light. My car had same issue and it was just the sensor. Your Cat could be overheating or it could just be the sensor. A dealer would have to trouble shoot for you.
