    Hi there ;-)

    Have a coupla issues here:

SLOW DOWN light (cats overheating I guess…) flashes even when the cats are cold:
If the slow down light flashes as I start the car it can’t be because the cats overheat (as they’re obviously cold as the engine starts). The “check engine” light comes on only before I start the engine and then goes off (don’t know whether is normal that “check engine” shows each time just before one starts the engine)?
Plus, after changing both front shock absorbers I got the “suspensions” lights on.

    Any clues shall be appreciated

    Thanks ever such a lot.

Slow Down: You are facing an Exhaust ECU that has gone bad or is going bad or one of the connectors is in disrepair. IT is also possible that the Thermocouple has gone bad.

Suspension: The motor on top of the shocks may have lost a gear (tooth) and the suspension ECU has figured this out. At startup, the ECU runs the shock full left and then full right to get itself calibrated for the days activities. If it can't find full left or full right it will throw the suspension light.

Check engine will come on every time you turn key to on position and should be on for a number of seconds as a self check. Slow down light, is it a steady blinking or a flickering. Flickering will be a random electrical failure in the system, steady blinking will be a failure of one of the portions of that system.

    thanks for your answers guys.

the "check engine" light i see , it's only on for a few seconds and it shows up on the right side of the control dashboard. Hence i understand this is normal (one problem less ;-)

Mitch Alsup : "Suspension: The motor on top of the shocks may have lost a gear (tooth) and the suspension ECU has figured this out".

is the motor on top of the shocks replaceable or should i replace the whole shock absorbers?
How do i find out if this is indeed the problem? is it possible to figure it without taking the shock absorbers off ? (sorry for my english but i'm not a native ;-)

    Thanks again ;-)

The motor and the gears on top of the shocks (called a shock actuator) can be rebuilt like new from Captain Z CNC, Inc. (www.captainzcnc.com or email [email protected]).
    Tel+1 262-384-6173 or 74.

They are easy to remove. Take off the clips and pull them off gently. Unplug them and mail it to captain z. Runs about US $100 each depending on what's going on inside.

Search "Shock Actuators" Lots of information available including what Captian Z fixes and what they do not repair. You can also buy a new Corvette actuator and re-wire it yourself then you end up with a brand new actuator, gears and all.
