Well I have the wanring light issue. In my case the light only appears when she is cold. When warmed-up, it never comes on. I have seen a number of posts for correcting this by cleaning the contacts. Which connections need cleaning. The sensor at the CAT or the pins on the right side of the tranny? Thanks, Bill
Just to clarify, the lights should come on when the car is started they'll go off after about 5 -10 secs Is that is what is happening or are they on for a prolonged period? Depending on whether or not you have emission standards, slap on test pipes and just unplug the thermocouplers and disconnect the ECU works great!!
Bill -- The connections on the right side of the clutch housing are for the O2 sensors (not the warning light thermocouples & ECUs). The connections you would check are at the warning light ECUs themselves -- they are shown as items "H" in the US TR OM jpeg (they are under a cover in the inboard area of the RH rear suspension frame members). A warning light staying "on" after a cold start is obviously a false over-temp indication, but no lights at all at a warm restart is also bad -- every time you turn the key "on" (cold or warm) the warning lights should come "on" for a second or two and then go out as Myhorse indicated. If cleaning the connections doesn't help, swap the two warning light ECUs -- if the problem follows one of the ECUs (i.e., the other warning light stays on incorrectly) you can be fairly sure that it's frazzled. Just a follow-up thank you note. When I removed the cover panel I found a mess of grime and loose connections. I did a quick cleanup, re-fit the connectors and presto- no more light. Thanks. Bill
