Anyone know the poorest performers Ferrari made?

I think their should be 2 categories to be fair to the 2+2s, so slowest 2 seat and 2+2s?

    246 Dino? 308GTSi?

    400i?

"slowest" 2+2 would probably be the first production 2+2; the 250 GTE. That said, I'd rather hear a 250GTE rev up to 6000 than any Ferrari made after about 1976 . . .

True dat. For the money I'd take a Mondial 8 over a used Mustang GT convertible. An '80 308 GTSi over a new 350Z. A 400i over a tricked out Accord coupe. I could go on. Slow and poor are pretty subjective. I think all Ferraris in thier time were very capable cars.

Its not a comparison of these to another make or knock on the slow cars just a comparison of the slow cars, not every Ferrari made had great performance.

" just a comparison of the slow cars, not every Ferrari made had great performance".

I still don't get it. What are the slow cars? Not every Ferrari made had great performance? There is a whole aspect to driving these cars that performance numbers will never be able to translate.

I think I know that I have 2. Could be why some like 80hp 356 Porsches as well to each his own.

    Slow?

You are out for your Sunday drive and pull up to a stop light in a 2 lane road that turns into a 1 lane 200 ft ahead, a new Toyota minivan with a mom and 3 kids is in the left lane next to you and behind her is a Ford 150 pick up,so you keep your eyes directly ahead and don't look at them and yield to both when the light turns green and let them pass since you know you have no chance getting ahead of either of them.

US version Mondial 8. I don't think there is any other Ferrari which comes close.

Not that there's anything wrong with that!

You know, there is really no way the 80-82 Mondial can't take this honor. It's not that poor little car's fault. It was just the era.

Some of the 166s are a bit slow. 212 wasn't much faster.

The 125 was so slow that Ferrari got rid of them pretty quick.

712 was also slow, even with 7 liters it couldn't keep up with the competition.

We seem to be having another spate of this 'poor' performing bull**** discussions as we do every few months.

The hard fact is that early Mondials is they were as fast as 250 GT 2+2s (0-60 @8.2 seconds depending on who you read, MT and R&T in this case) as said before. Certainly handled better. And the Mondial 8s are about as fast as Lussos (around 8 seconds 0-60 also), but that misses the point as well. Heck, a Ferrari 212 coupe is also an 8.2 second car (R&T).

Of course we could really reach back and state that the 166 MM is one of the the worst pokeys of all with a 0-60 time measured at 10 seconds (R&T).

And now, back to our program...

Now I think the 400i is the hands down winner there... :) Even several of Carbon's big boned beauties fit with ease: :)
