I prefer the D60. Big difference in price compared to the D90. I'm waiting for Nikon to improve on the video portion of the D90.

There is a lot of info in SLR's in the Architectural, Design and Visual Arts section above the Technology Section.
    Give it a try.

I have gone from a Panasonic Lumix to a Nikon D -80 and now the D-300. The biggest difference
I have seen so far is from the 2.8 lenses I saved up for, as they make you look like a pro. I would go D-40 and a 24-70mm 2.8 for my money.

I purchased a D90 about two months ago to replace my D70. HUGE improvement to an already great camera. I like the video portion. Taped some hockey last night. I highly recommend.

I just bought a D70 from a friend who upgraded to a D200. D70 is great and it does what I want. Price was fantastic also compared to a new one, but it lacks all the latest and greatest features. Still, it takes super pictures. Plus... it gets the red right on my fcar with no PS color correction - my Canon G9 always made it look orange. As mentioned check out the Design section for lots of info.

D700; full frame is worth the money, in addition to the larger higher resolution LCD.

Nikon D90 or Canon XSI are good camera's to start with, in my opinion best to go with the D90 it's a great camera.
