Both windows on my 99 355 spider are slow to rise. Also they both stop slightly short of the top seal. Are the motors going bad? Can the lift/lowering action be adjusted?

On the rear coner of each door is a triangular peice of trim. Around this trim is a rubber seal. Many times on these cars the rubber seal gets folded around and keeps the window from going all the way up. Check to see if the seal stays in place against the window glass, as you move the window up and down.

This is probaly one of the most common complaints and problems with both the 348 and 355.... Just so you don't feel alone :)

If Tom's suggestion does not work - you can go a little deeper - and look at the contact points on the drive motor - check to make sure they are connected properly/tightly, give them a little contact spray, clean the connectors, reattach - and this 80% of the time is the problem... After that you are pretty much left with a motor problem... but try these first.

yea no kiddin, my first time in a 348 TB... i almost preferred it to be roll down windows... i mean you could be caught in the rain and by the time you got the windows up it'd be time to roll them down again!

I found on my previous 308, that if you sprayed the felt tracks with a little silicone spray twice a year, the windows would close completely, and ran much faster. YMMV

There is also another piece of triangular plastic near the front of the door - just by the wing mirrors.

If you lower the window you will be able to see it and it helps direct the glass as it rises

This was causing by 348 passenger side to move very slowly.
