The california, I personally am undecided on whether or not I really like it ( havent seen one in person. that is what will determine it for me). I do however think that it lacks something in apperance.

I was sitting around the other day and got to thinking...What about a smaller front engine ferrari.

I was thinking something about the size of an Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

    The specs:

    4.3L V8 block barrowed from F430 (450 hp/400 lb.ft.)
Aluminum frame and body( maybe some CF)
6 speed manual or 7 speed dual clutch transmission options
Carbon ceramic brakes as an option
Top speed in the 180+ Mph range
    0-60 MPH 4.5 sec.or less
Engine mounted behind front axle for weight distribution
    18" wheels 245 front/275 rear
    Magnetoheological suspension
    Cost of $160-180K USD

Just figured a light weight(2800-3000 max. lighter if possible) GT car would be a nice addition to the line up

    My concept drawing

I guess in sense it does look like one... Hahaha. I just put a pen to paper siting a TGIFridays before the food got to the table.

I thought it was ok for an 18yr old with no formal training.

Mmm I dont know man that looks just like the F430. When trying to design an F430 replacement try to incorporate alittle of it and it's predecessor's styling. So what did you eat??

Lol I didnt really design that to be a F430 replacement and yes I understand what you mean when trying to incorporate styling cues. I did that pic a while ago and It just ended up looking Ferrari 360/430 esque.

I had the jack daniels burger. It was pretty good not going to lie.

My true interest in design started with architecture and still is to an extent. I wanted to be an Architect...Now I want to get into real estate development.

Fred2. It would be similar to the Maserati coupe. But specifically Ferrari badged. I like the 599 and the 612 but they seem to be big and heavy. figured something smaller would be fun.

Really I was drawing from what I saw in the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT

No, it isn't ;) Look in the long F450/F500 thread to see the real spy photos and not photoshops that don't look like the real deal! :)

I like you inspiration, the AM is a very nice car.
A modern 250 GTO inspired car would be a sweet.

I have played witht that idea as well. But it was more specifically a rendering of what a modern 250GTO spider might be ...free hand drawing

Sorry its a bad pic. If i find the drawing I'll try to post a better one.

No, it isn't? Here is Car and Driver's number: (734) 971-3600. Ask for Alain Lemarchand, President and Chief Executive Officer. Tell him he is wrong, and what you know. Please get back to us with his response.

BTW - Spy photo cars are thinly disguised concept cars in styles which rarely reach production without tweaking ;)

    Great!

With a few more people I'm sure I could just call up Luca and Maurizio and suggest they start preliminary production phases.

Seriously though, I'm sure a ton of Ferrari fans would love for a 250 GTO inspired car to be made (spider or coupe) assuming it was a design that was worthy of the namesake (Including ME LOL). which I assume is the part that would be difficult.Hahaha.

Yes, the design would have to be worthy of the namesake, as you stated, but you have insight and talent as evident by your drawings. People are hungry for exotic designs which capture great past cars. You never know - Ferrari designs came from guys like you.

Thanks for the complements and kind words. It's fun to come up with new designs or cars, or try to make your own concept of these cars that show up in spy shots with heavly disguised exteriors.

I dont have as much talent as I would like to some times though. I can see a great many more things in my head than I seem to get down my arm to the paper. (probably the most frustrating thing for someone like me)

If I had and or could use a 3D modeling program that would be neat. But I do not have one.

What do you think you would like to see from Ferrari?

From Ferrari, I would like to see cars designed with passion, not necessarily designed in the wind tunnel. I like all the new Ferraris, and have absolutely nothing against their designs other than a small loss of exoticness about their teardrop shapes.

What you did with your art, is to come up with a way to incorporate some of the great cars of the past and present into one car design that works for all. I like that.

You've got some good ideas and I see some artistic talent.

Maybe take some art classes, you never know where it may lead.
