    All,
I purchased the smaller water bottle
And jet system from Superformance, because at the time, the larger one was not available for my 1980 GTBi.
I don’t have the original clip, and even if I ordered a new one, it would only fit the larger bottle system. Does anyone know where I can get a clip for this smaller bottle system? You would think Superformance would have a clip for it, but if they do I can’t find it.

    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    Why not ask Superformance?

Make one? Aluminum is easy to work with.

Great suggestion. I left a message with them asking exactly that.

Another great idea. Assuming there isn’t a factory holder, this will be next step.

    Hi Rifle,

See the picture above of the windshield wiper bottle and spray motor. It originally had a wider bottle and the typical strap system. My car did not come with a bottle and sprayer as the previous owner lost it. The new one I bought has a different hanging mechanism. All I have of the old system is the clip in that picture.

    So.

What was the original application of the bottle you now have that you cannot mount?

I know quite well what the original bottle looked like.

Superformance sold it as a replacement for the original bottle. In theory, it should mount like the original, but clearly it doesn’t. It has a different kind of attachment. I figured since they sold it as a replacement, it must have been a production bottle at some ti
My understanding it was/is a replacement for the original. Be interesting to see what Superformance has to say why they think this is a valid replacement.

Brian, how many points deduction would that be from a judge's standpoint?

That looks like the bottle out of an Alfa Romeo. At least that is the style mount that was used in the Spiders in the 80's

It was not a production item for Ferrari. At least not in the 20th or early 21st century.

Thanks, thinking I should return it and get the other proper one. However I bought it years ago, so doubt they would take it.

Sure looks like a close match to the small
One they are selling. Why on earth are they selling an Alfa washer setup as fitting on a 308 is the question.

They share the same electric window switches. My 84 308 and 82 Spider's switches are identical.

because people will sell anything to make a few bucks!

Looks like on the Alfa it mounts on a tapered bracket, so the weight of the bottle and water hold it in place. If you don't care for originality you could easily make a tapered bracket as others suggested from aluminium or mild steel, and make the attaching points align with the OEM bottle bracket. Drill out and remove the OEM bracket and replace it with your new piece. Job done, looks neat, and to any non-Ferrari eyes, it would look factory correct!

Thanks Brock, I may very well end up just as you suggest. I have a bone to pick with Superformanc though. Let's see what they are willing to do or not to do about exchanging the small bottle for a credit towards the proper one. I kinda feel like that is faulty advertising.

Brian, I assume points would be deducted for the wrong bottle from a judge's standpoint at a concurs event?

I have the original one complete w/ container and strap . The only problem is I think the motor is either leaking or not working . Ive not tested it yet . It came w/ my 86 328 I bought Dec of last year . I can sell it to you Frisky but Im based here in the Philippines and shipping will be expensive via DHL . Here is a picture of the actual part.

looks like it was leaking from the seal between the bottle and the motor, and someone thought they could repair it with sealant rather than actually fixing the problem :)

Hi Audio, I am at the end of a full mechanical restoration and have a brand new part I will retrofit, or upgrade to a brand new one that is correct for my car.
I am sure someone would love to have it though.

    Thank you!
