Ferrari number two driver, Felipe Massa has said that Michael Schumacher will have to help himself if he wants to beat Fernando Alonso and win the drivers' championship for an eighth time. Schumacher currently trails Alonso by 23 points in the race for the drivers' crown and as the series reached the half-way point, there has been much speculation that the Scuderia will try to use Massa in order to try and take points off the Spaniard. "All the journalists are asking me what I can do to help Michael in his fight for the title. Help Michael? It's a strange question because first of all, Michael has to help himself, because he also needs to be in front of Alonso," said the Brazilian. "I'm trying to do my best to be in front of him as well. I am always trying hard to win and I will continue to do all I can to try and win." Asked about the situation further on Thursday, ahead of the first practice sessions on Friday, Massa added that it is not just what he can do to help his team-mate, but what the whole team can do too. "Everyone's role in the team is important when you are trying to win," he continued. "Everyone, me, Michael and the team have to do our best, but of course the guys at Renault are thinking exactly the same thing. Our objective is obviously to finish as a team ahead of our strongest rivals and me and Michael are both trying to do exactly that. We have not managed that in the last two races."
True. About the only thing Massa could do to help MS is to hit Alonso's car. He almost managed once this year.
Well I hope he doesn't hit anything and at least starts beating Fischella before even worrying about Alonso.
i think he will. time will tell. now that fisi's future is secured for 1 more year, i expect to see him slow down and take it easy a lil....just a while guess tho...
