Here we go again, new pics though!...
Well, he admits the wreck finally, but he IS a real wise ass and that alone would turn me off of the deal. He's got a good point about being a good "driver' as it had LOADs of repairs before the wreck! LOL!
I was wondering the same thing, maybe ill ask him. Some pics for us to look at years from now when the ebay ad is gone. I just discovered something interesting. These pics and the burned out, then sandblasted and now primed boxer shell has the same file names as the pics here and they are in sequence in my folder, hmmmmm, taken by the same camera? Same owner/seller? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Seller says it will take 25% more than the current bid to win the boxer. Thats just around $55K by my calculations.
The good part about you getting it is that it would be made perfect. You could do it up like your 308. I wonder what a BBi in that condition could fetch????
Good catch Paul-I looked at the picture again of the hood on the crashed black one to see if there was anyway he could have fixed/bondo'd it up and came to the realization he probably had a few front end pieces laying around from another Boxer that he must have had, to bugger this poor thing back together. What do you think would be a fair price for it as a "project" car?
I wont buy it for $55K plus no matter how nice it is in the end, the mountain of money combined with the "history" makes it a no-win situation that way. If the clamshell is new or a mint used one I would gladly pay $45K for the car and part it out. Over that, short of selling every nut and bolt over a long period of time, were talking years here, it just isnt worth it. If he pieced the lid together then $38K because everything ahead of the windshield is worthless.
I think it probably has bondo and everything everywhere... But that is just my humble opinion and not a know fact... It may in fact be a beautiful car... (this statement is only for the attourney and not the opinion of the postee, the poster or Ferrari Chat)
I would have to say that it is probably pieced together as evidenced by the stick on-no recess Ferrari badge and the abscence of some of the front end parts(wheel wells etc). Curious to know what he repaired the left front suspension with, as that looked to have been stuffed into the firewall pretty hard.
There was a picture of it, posted on the internet... What could he win? My dome tent is "Homestead"ed..............
The original ebay ad said "the only items replaced" not body panels as stated in his nice letter to you. So, you have nothing to worry about. The car is missing parts so that makes it a lump which does not match the description. Saying things like he cant think of anything that needs to be repaired, guess he didnt open the front lid and see the lack of at least one inner fender. Thats just my opinion though not fact lol.
Yep I guess he just got mad when I said it was fraud and they whould be put in jail... that set him off a little. Did ANYBODY bid that thing up at all? I pitty the person that parts with his $$ for that car.
Since ol' wayne "....so happens that I am a judge and attorney in four states....", maybe he's going to expunge its record. For the right amount, I'd grab it. To borrow from Newman: Can't have too many Boxers....spares!!
That is just wrong. Nothing wrong with rebuilding salvage titled cars if they're done right, I just can't believe that car was put back on the road. Then again, if I'm not mistaken, he was also the guy that put this car back together... http://www.wreckedexotics.com/murcielago/murcielago_112002_001.jpg
