I'd have to agree and say I wouldn't want that once it's been repaired. It looks like it might have been a good enough impact to do some real damage underneath.

    Glad no one was injured.

Airbags did not deploy that I can see. Hood doesn't even look crinkled. If it is a daily driver fix and continue to enjoy it. It will not be the only one out there with a new panel or two...

Sorry to see/hear that. I guess were it me it would depend on what the insurance company offered me. If I was going to hold onto it for a while anyway and I wasn't getting enough for a replacement, I would stick with it. If I knew I wanted to flip it soon, I would not want the hassle of moving a car with a repair.

I'd take it to Frank @ Classic Coach who is an authorised Ferrari repair dealer and ask him what he thinks. I think it can easily be fixed and will be good as new when done. Insurance should cover it unless the cost to repair exceeds 70% of value.

My guess 40K and 4 months.

    Mention my name.

OUCH!!! doesn't appear that the frame is bent. it all depends on what the insurance company offers you. i think the $40k amount is correct for the repair

    Barry,

Sorry to hear! I would recommend Sublime Restorations in Rowley, MA. He is the ONLY person I have/will ever send Lamborghini and Ferrari's to. Outstanding work. Has won Pebble Beach with one of Ralph Laurens cars. PM me for contact.

Truth be told, its not 'bad'. Napolis is right, this is repairable by a Ferrari bodyshop.

If you a great place to go, talk to Coach & Carriage in Natick. They did an awesome job with my Lotus Esprit...actually it was better than awesome because they went above the call of duty to get everything right. My car was particular troublesome because of the pearlescent white paint. The owner is an italian guy who has owned a couple of Ferraris and Maseratis. The foreman, Mark is an ex-Foreign Motors West (15 years) guy and does custom racing bikes and Jaguar restorations.

The guys working on the car were great too..they treated my car like their own...the chief painter came in at 5am on his day off (Sat) to paint my car. Even let me watch.

If you do call them, tell them Chandra with the Lotus referred you.

If you want something closer to you, there also is a shop in Holliston that does Aston Martin work.

This looks like its damaged the front frame on the lhs ie the front suspension mounting - the chassis in front of the windscreen may need to be replaced. If its not that bad, then just the trunk box. Scenario a) probably 80K, scenario b) more like 40K. Classic Coach is the nearest correct place for this since its hard core aluminum chassis work, not the kind of thing a regular repair shop does necessarily. Also depends on whether you are paying and what the type of insurance you have. Jim's right, minimum of 4 months for this kind of thing.

    Great that no-one was hurt.

That front wheel does look awfully pushed back....can't imagine that it's just "superficial". If that's the case, car could be a loss...the adjuster's going to have to make a serious decision on this one.

That is not a bad fix judging by the pictures. Likely the suspension arms or mounting studs broke. It does appear the steering wheel is bent.
We fix much worse than this on a regular basis and when done properly are as good as the factory delivered.
A challenge car would be on the track the same day.

Well it depends on whether the mounting points for the chassis/suspension are broken. I speak from personal experience of a front end into tirewall in a challenge car - What looked at first glance like a new fender/radiator etc turned into a multi-month chassis fixing. If its a glancing blow, then windsock is right, a good challenge team would fix this overnight in the pits. If the forces have bent the chassis, no dice. Dave Angeloni at FoNE will be able to tell you.

Ouch! Most importantly, nobody was injured.

side note: I have a CB7 just like the one in the background, but in frost white. Yay.

What Dan says is true. If the suspension pick up points are damaged things get pricey. The real problem is that there are two casting for the suspension anchors, one front and one rear. FNA will not sell the castings to anyone but an authorized body repair center.
There is a special frame machine with jigs to repair this also. I had a bad experience with Classic Coach. Karosserie in Virginia has a good rep.

Hey Barry...sorry to hear about the car.

I would recommend Karosserie in PA...that's where we send anything that needs Aluminum work or chassis repair. They take a long time to repair, but the results are awesome...it will look like a factory finish.

Call me if you have any questions or I can put you in touch with them for further advise
    Steve
