Hi fellers, I live in CA and my registration is due in early November. It notes on my registration that I need to have a smog check/test done, BUT I had this done and passed in May of 08, which is less than two years ago. I know CA is the number 1 pain-in-the-ass state out there pursuant to this kind of thing but it was always my understanding that registration is, of course, every year, and the smog test every OTHER year and, accordingly due at the time of registration. I seem to be getting "jipped" out of six months time here. Any thoughts? Many thanks, Scott
your check done in may 08, was it done as part of the transfer of ownership of the car, or for some reason other than for the biannual registration smog? I believe they don't count that as part of the biannual smog. so if you get it done in Nov 09, you won't need to get it done again until Nov 2011.
