Any recommendations for a Ferrari friendly smog station in the San Francisco bay area? Any places to avoid? I just want to do a "pre-test" to check tailpipe emissions.

I would highly recommend Smog King, 19 Beta Court, San Ramon 925-820-5665.

They are a quality lower volume shop specializing in exotics, and they have a good understanding of them.

My car came from out of state and I was very concerned.

They asked if I had driven the car 8-10 miles before arriving to ensure the cats were fully warmed, but also wanted to make sure the cats were not overly hot as well.

Their dyno is in the floor so there is no clearance problem.

Rifledriver referred me to them, and he was right. They are in front of his shop.

    Highly recommended.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will give them a call.

Another question. When I have a "pre-test" done the info get transferred to the DMV. It would seem that it shoudn't be transferred, but I just want to be sure they have no visability to this test. Is there anything in particular that I should should tell the smog tech to insure it is not transferred?

Since you are in Silicon Valley I would go to Silicon Valley Auto Group. Their service department is in Campbell on White Oaks Road.

Just ask for a pretest, it is done all the time. Threre will be an extra charge.
