Hi all. Does anyone know what the test limits for CO, HC, and NOx emmisions are for a 1983 400i? The car will be tested in Nevada. Probably same as 49-state. I do have a 5-gas analyzer to do some pre-test tuning. But no idea what the limit values are. Any help ? Thanks
NC no longer requires tailpipe tests for cars older than 1996. No more problems! Cars still have to pass visual inspecton (nudge, nudge;wink, wink). Would not be surprised if other states scrap their tailpipe tests as more and more require just OBD-II MIL checks. -Peter
It's an 83. Keep it unregistered for one more year, then it qualifies as an antique. No more smog testing.
I tried calling the NV DMV. That worked out just about the way you would expect... Won;t be getting THAT 2 hours of my life back I tried serchign thier website also. No luck. My reading is that vehicles are exempt only from 1967 back in Nevada. Grrr I guess I will just wander over to a smog test station and ask what the limis are. So often the simple answer eludes us
