Been sulking all day after I got smoked by a McLaren 720S today. Yes I know, but still stings. Lol.
Well, you have to realize it has 60 more hp, and I don't know the weight, but it is considerably lighter than a FF.
Not even apples to apples. You think the street is bad wait until you get on a track. But your car was not built for that it was built to drive around four people and a picnic basket so relax.
Yep not surprised. 720 McLaren will out run most all Ferrari except a SF90. 720 is a car length ahead a F8 in the 1/4 mile and even more on a roll race. 720 and Pista on a tight road course and the 720 is .5 sec fast on 1:45 laps but the 720 was on sticky Pirelli Trofeo R tires and Pista on Cup 2. Pista at The Ring is 8 seconds faster.
Nothing beats the sound of the FF's V12. In addition, we have the pleasure of sharing the driving pleasure with 3 extra passengers! And .. long drives in a 720S is very tiring, while the FF is a GT you can drive for hours without getting tired and deaf! I like to take that one time I lose at the traffic light for granted.
You know, the same reason why we talk to the hottest girl in the room. Its really my fault, I did tantalize him revving that V12 while he was behind me at a light. Nothing sounds better than a V12. The FF is no slouch, 657 hp and 0-60 in 3 seconds so although the 720S does it in 2.8 seconds, still that a good match. I had him until 55 mph but after that the 720S really came alive and next thing you know he is passing me at 65 and with a snap we are now at 100 plus and he is way ahead.
It is so fast, and I know the 720 very well as I have spent tons of time in them. And agree with you, the FF is much better. I remember doing a 3 hour road trio in the 720 S, its not a place you want to be in for too much time.
You are so right. Nothing beats the sound of that V12, its just so glorious, The sound that comes from the 720 is good but its no V12. The 720 is very tough on loing drives. I daily my FF and its just amazing every single day.
It really is so fast and lets your body know it as it really beats you up after a while behind the wheel. I had a 720 for 7 days and after the first day the thrill wore off. As with Porsches, the McLaren lacks emotion that the Ferrari certainly delivers on.

Having played the fast car game for years honestly who cares. There's always someone faster. I own a Tesla Model S Plaid that'll walk my F12 and a 720S and put a hurting on a 765LT but ya know what...it has it's moments of fun, just like the F12 has it's moments of fun for me. The McLaren cars are awesome performers. I've driven them and love them. Engine note is not bad by itself however surrounded by other cars (Ferrari, Audi/Lambo V10, etc.) and it's lackluster at best. Apples vs pears, sorry. Buy a Nissan GTR, tune it and litterally smoke anything that has ever driven on this planet. I've owned several and last one had 1600bhp at the wheels. Smoked a Bugatti at half throttle. But then again, does that really matter.....!? I I sold it and have 2x more fun in my Pista or any other F car. You won with your V12. Besides, traffic light runs are for teenagers.
