I'm replacing both boots on my axle and finished (or I think) one side.

The side that I finished... when I removed the axle the snap ring literally fell out onto the floor.

So I thought, ok replace the snap ring with the one in the kit. Which I did.

The thing is... it's on there, it's in the groove, I even tapped it down with a drift to make 100 percent sure.

But I if I pull up on the joint enough times, the ring dislodges and flies off.

I figured for it to be secure that shouldn't happen.

But I've removed it, and replaced it and tapped and done everything I can think of to make sure it's seated, but with enough pulls on the joint it will dislodge.

Is this ok? Or do I have an issue with my axle?

The spring washer against the joint makes it a challenge getting the snap ring seated. I use a press to lightly push the joint down and the ring goes into the groove.

That's the thing, I'm pretty sure it's in there already.
