Changed the oil in my F430 yesterday. I purchased the kit from Ricambi which includes a filter to be put into the gearbox housing. However, there is a snap ring holding the filter in place. I tried several different screwdrivers, etc. but couldn't get it out (It kept sliding around its slot which didn't help matters any.) So, I just proceeded with the rest of the oil change without removing the gearbox housing filter. For those of you who have done this before, does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks

I have changed the oil in my 360F1 several times, but the one in the gearbox housing only once. I recall using special snap ring removal/lacement pliers, which you can purchase in any automotive parts store.

[I know this is a post from the grave, but I thought I would help the next who uses the search tool]

No special tool available. I used two screwdrivers. One to hold the ring in place to prevent it from spinning, the other to gently pry the ring off it's seat using leverage
against the pointed end of the segmented ring.

I replace the mesh, ring, and seals every annual. My mesh was clean.
