Does anyone have any experience with the Snoozebox hotel which is located inside the Silverstone racing circuit?

I'm heading there for a few days next year, I think it would be easier to just live at the circuit instead of commuting up and down to London or the villages around the area. We're not in the need of anything fancy, just a comfortable place to sleep.

Any advice or experience is appreciated. Thanks.

Friends stayed in one at the last Silverstone classic. Very noisy he said as people were messing about directly outside into the early hours, then making a hell of a noise again from 6am on. They are basically fancy portakabins.

Far better and cheaper to find a nice hotel just outside the circuit, There are plenty to choose from if you use a site like hotels.com lastminute.com or travelodge.co.uk we had a nice one just off the motorway about a 15 min drive from the track with travelodge, not fancy but clean tidy and easy to park with all amenities close to hand, and nice and quiet.

Thanks for your reply. I hear what you are saying. I'm going for a private event, so hopefully the people messing about at night would not be as prominent as i.e. an F1 weekend, or a larger event such as the Silverstone Classic which you mentioned. The thing is that if the day starts early, I'm at the circuit, and I don't have to get up and drive or take a taxi. Since I am not bringing a road legal car for the event, the snoozebox seems like a good option in theory. Rental car rates for me are horrible as I'm relatively young and not a customer of any company, so living at a hotel would mean a daily taxi trip to and from the hotel in addition to the already planned taxi expenses for any activities off the circuit in the surrounding areas.

However, if you can't sleep in the snoozebox complex then there is no point in the logistical convienence it gives you. Can you really find a cheaper option though? Not that it's a huge issue, but they advertise with "starting from £40 per night". I think the second cheapest was starting at £50 per night.

Green Man pub is five minutes away - good beer and nice atmosphere.

When I went to the 2007 race at silverstone I was camping and also had to deal with the noise. Leaving the track to town/villages was a ****ing nightmare for people with cars, an endless traffic jam. Since you're going when there's no race on you could go to one of the villages. Ask if they maybe do a pick up service (50/50). Taxi's are expensive. I paid £45 each way for a short distance (around 6 miles).

Never stayed in snoozebox before but one of my mates has at Isle of Man last year. The guy is old and loaded so used to comfort but he said he'll use it every time he'll go to a racing event. It was clean, cheap and beds decent enough if all you want is to sleep.

Since you're also bringing a track toy car I'd just stay in Snoozebox for sheer convenience. If there are more going tell everyone to stay in the same area, bring a couple of portable chairs and portable bbq and coolerbox and make it more fun.
